In May, Deadline reported that Roman Reigns was one of the people being considered for a role in a new live-action film based on the iconic Street Fighter video game series. Jeff Sneider (The InSneider) later reported that Reigns would play the role of Akuma. More pro-wrestling-related casting news followed in July, as Nexus Point News reported that Rhodes was in talks to play Guile in the upcoming video game movie adaptation. In addition, Fightful (via Fightful Select) reported that New Japan Pro-Wrestling star Hirooki Goto would play E. Honda.
Neither Rhodes nor Reigns commented on the respective reports — until now. On Thursday, Paramount officially announced the full cast of the movie, confirming Rhodes as Guile and Reigns as Akuma.
Reigns simply wrote “Akuma!” in response to the digitized image of his casting announcement on Twitter/X. Rhodes went a step further, sharing an American Nightmare logo sporting Guile’s trademark flat-topped haircut.
The full announced cast is as follows:
Andrew Koji is Ryu
Noah Centineo is Ken
Callina Liang is Chun-Li
Cody Rhodes is Guile
Orville Peck is Vega
50 Cent is Balrog
Jason Momoa is Blanka
Vidyut Jammwal is Dhalsim
