CM Punk: Some People Are Praised As A Great Promo, But All They Do Is Raise Their Voice

CM Punk is known for his skills in the ring and on the mic, and recently took some wrestlers who claim to be great on the microphone to task.

Speaking during a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio, Punk said that people think wrestling is just about “yelling and screaming,” and there’s some stars who just simply get loud when they get the mic in their hands.

“Everybody thinks pro wrestling is just yelling and screaming. And there’s people that people claim are fantastic on the mic and all they really do is raise their voice,” said CM Punk. “Hulk Hogan did the ‘well let me tell you something brother’ and like cocaine fueled, you know. I mean, it’s entertaining. But that’s just what I’m trying to do, what I do, what I bring to the table. That, that’s more my lane. When I start doing copious amounts of cocaine, I will then switch lanes.”

Punk’s skills on the mic are legendary, as he’s often one of the first people point to as being able to hold his own against anyone. Currently, he and Roman Reigns are engaged in a war of words ahead of their match at WrestleMania 42, with both Punk and Reigns trading some harsh trash talk at each other.
